Basic Details

Presenters

2)    The presenters are wearing very formal clothing however Jon Snow wears bright coloured ties and socks to show that the show is energetic
3)    They would use a variety of presenters to show a diverse variety of presenters
4)    The other presenters are used for Interviewing, undercover and International coverage.
5)    The isn’t a balance of female and male presenters as there are three male presenters and one female presenter. However, one of the male presenters is Asian and the other two are male. This shows that they are stereotyping and they are not against other races and ethnicity.

Opening Sequence

1)    Their brand logo
2)    The opening sequence shows clips of the main story so the audience has an idea on what they are going to mention.
3)    The music that is played in the beginning is famous as the channel 4 news theme song so when people are not physically looking at the TV they know that it is on.
4)    The main news story will be the first one to start while there is a little bar on the bottom left which says what news stories they are going to talk about at what time to tell the audience when to come back and see it if they have something to do.

Studio Mise-En-Scene

1)    At the start of the show you can see two presenters standing in front a desk which as two huge screens opposite each other. They can also see the back of the studio in the background.
2)    At the start of the show the presenters are standing in front of the desk but then they move and sit next to it mid-way through the programme. I think they did this because they want the audience to feel like they are actually having a conversation with the presenters.
3)    Right before the show starts it pans out into the studio and you can see all the technology and camera men. This suggests to the audience that they are prepared and they are professional and ready to tell the news.
4)    They use the colours of the brand around the studio to tell the audience that they are watching channel 4 news.

How News Stories Are Presented

1)    Channel 4 News typically gets straight to the point when they introduce a news story. While the presenter is talking about it they normally get a screen behind him that show pictures related to the news story
2)    Channel 4 News normally have people that interview other people or even have people reporting from the news scene itself. They also have videos of the news story and images.
3)    Channel 4 News normally give news stories about that is going on in the world and what is most popular at the moment, e.g. voting for the next political party to run the government. They also give news stories around the world e.g. the war in Syria and interviews with victims and even sometimes the terrorists themselves.
4)    The news stories that they put up are almost always interesting or could involve your social environment, e.g. if a crime happened in your area or the general election which could decide the future of your life.

Running Order

1)    The top story is about immigrants and how many immigrants enter Britain.
2)    The main story is described by Jon Snow for 0:25 Seconds.
3)    International stories, deaths about M4 Disaster and news about politicians. Happy story (Nigerian family reunited).
4)    Most news stories last 10-20 seconds.
5)    Each story was covered by a certain amount of time due to its importance.

Audience

1)    18-65 age range
2)    This news channel covers news stories all around the world while some only cover a specific area.
3)    Yes people can get involved in the news stories by using a specific hash tag
4)    The audience will be pleased as the show might cover as it might cover news stories in their area.

1)    Channel 4 runs Channel 4 news
2)    Channel 4 does not produce any other type of news cast
3)    The broadcast fits the channel as it talks about news stories which they show TV shows such as documentaries.
4)     It makes sure that they are two sides off an argument and that there won’t be any explicit content in hours which children will be awake.

2)    It offers news which they could have missed so they can catch up.

4)    It promotes the programme as it has a link to their website and YouTube Channel.
