A group of friends were living their lives
happily until one of them gets cancer and the treatment is one million dollars.
The only way to get this sort of money is to rob a bank! Will they pull this
off and save their friend without getting caught? The film genre will be
crime. This is because they will have to use violence to get in and out. My target audience is aged between (19-30) and 70% male and 30% female. The characters
that will be in this film are called Trev, Robin, Jack, Daniel, one of which
gets cancer. This movie concept was based around Ocean 11 & 12.

Film Posters And Trailers: Blog Task
The Wolf of Wall Street
Poster Key Conventions
The key conventions of this poster are, the name of the director, the main stars and the colour scheme, secondary image. These conventions might attract the audience because of the central and secondary image. It tells us that the movie is a hyper and party movie, which might attract audiences similar. The colour scheme is a yellowish gold which suggests money and power. The centre image is of a famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
Trailer Key Conventions
The key conventions of the this film trailer are the name of the stars, the directors name, when it comes out. The name of the film and the release date come at the end of the film followed by the stars. The main star is shown in all of the clips along with some other people which suggests that they are also apart of the film and that they have a huge impact on the film. The trailer shows a lot of money being wasted and earned, which tells us that the film will be revolved around money.
I think that the trailer and the poster do promote the film successfully as they didn't show to much in the trailer and the poster gives good information about the film.

It’s a social thing
1) What was the word-of-mouth like for your chosen film? If you can’t find tweets (probably blocked) use the IMDB user review rating or the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer rating to judge whether the public have given the movie a good review.
The Viewers have given this film a 8.3 out of 10 and have given positive comments about the film ,but also what they think would have made the film better
Source: IMDB
2) Find three quotes (no more than 25 words each) from user reviews of your movie to create a picture of what the public reaction to the film has been. Post them on your blog.
1. Always thought that there must be a very good reason for a movie to last 3 hours. Wolf of wall street does last 3 hours but there no shadow of a good reason for it. It could have lasted 1 hour and it would have been already too long.
2. De Caprio is the heart of the film, a daredevil whose motivation seems to be a misguided desire to acquire as much money as possible. He lives his life as a constant dare, using and abusing the investments of others, gambling with his personal relationships and his own health. He constantly endangers his life and those who are closest to him. It seems like he is capable of stopping this fall, but he keeps sinking and sinking. We could say he has a survivor's nature, but he carries with a very intense death wish, too.
3. This film arrived in the UK with awards and Oscar nominations all around it, adding an expectation which it really didn't need adding since even without any of that it is ultimately a Scorsese film with a big name cast. It also arrives with some other stuff because the film has been criticized for near glamorization of the excesses that Belfort was able to experience with his ill-gotten funds and, to be honest, it is an impression that isn't helped when you consider that this film was put forward to the Golden Globes in the Musical/Comedy section. Now I am sure that was a political move by the studio, but it does say something about the film because indeed for most of it we have stuff so unbelievable and so excessive that it is hard not to laugh at it. It is hard not to enjoy it.
